Inside the Eye: From Anatomy to Real-World Cases

Where curiosity meets medicine — and students get to think like doctors.

1. What’s really behind what we see?

The eye is far more complex than it looks.
Students explored the major structures of the eye—including the cornea, lens, retina, optic nerve, fovea, and blood vessels—and how each plays a role in vision.

2. Meet Ophthalmology

The session introduced students to the world of ophthalmology, from medical training to specialized retinal surgery.
It was a real look at how curiosity in science can eventually lead to a career in medicine.

3. Don’t just learn the answer—diagnose it.

Instead of simply being told the diagnosis, students were challenged to look at the evidence, think through the symptoms, and identify the problem themselves.

4. Case #1: Cataracts

An 80-year-old patient with painless, gradually worsening cloudy vision became the first medical mystery.
Students examined the signs and learned how cataracts affect the eye—and how cataract surgery can restore clearer vision.

5. Case #2: Diabetic Retinopathy

The second case took students deeper into the retina, showing how diabetes can damage the blood vessels of the eye and affect vision.

6. The real lesson?

Medicine isn't just about memorizing anatomy or disease names.
It's about observing, asking questions, connecting the clues, and making thoughtful decisions.

See the eye. Understand the science. Follow the clues. Think like a doctor.
