Dr. Janet S. Gunter, OTD, OTR/L
Dr. Janet Gunter is an accomplished occupational therapist, educator, clinical leader, and dedicated advocate with more than 30 years of experience. She is the Director of Clinical Services, co-owner of Therapy West, Inc., and oversees two clinical sites and a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists. Dr. Gunter received her education from USC, where she was called a "triple trojan" for not only earning her bachelor's degree, but her master's and doctoral degrees in occupational therapy there as well. Furthermore, she holds an Advanced Practice Certification in feeding and swallowing.
During her presentation, she will dive into her personal background and professional career, demonstrate what exactly occupational therapists do and work with, and then give us a glimpse into pediatrics, demonstrating her specialty working with children with autism spectrum disorders, neuromotor disorders, sensory processing challenges, and feeding and oral-motor difficulties.
